Description

When people think of hunting waterfowl they usually think of Canada or Arkansas. However, from personal experience we think that Iowa is one of the greatest places to hunt ducks and geese. We are located in the Mississippi flyway with a lot of ducks, snow geese, canada geese, and some specks moving through. We also have a lot of local canada geese in our area that decoy easily. We have a lot of farm ponds with blinds on them. We also have a private wetland that is located only 4 miles away from a waterfowl/wildlife refuge area. This wetland includes a flooded cornfield with 2 roomy pit blinds. This wetland also has a generator that is connected to aerators located in the water in front of the blind so the water never freezes up around the decoys. (see pics of wetland below) We also have access to a 700 acre public hunting lake. This lake has about 40 acres of flooded timber that is outstanding for duck hunting.

Terms & Conditions

To book you must send a non-refundable deposit of $1000 to lock you into your spot. Please note that your hunt is not considered booked until your deposit is received by Southwest Iowa Outfitters. If you do not draw, the original $1000 will be held and guarantees you a spot for the year that you do draw your tag. You will be notified by the Iowa DNR if you were successful or not in July (and sometimes before July) of the year you apply. If you are successful in drawing a tag another $1000 is due. At this point you will have $2000 down on your hunt. The balance of the hunt then is due 30 days prior to the hunt if paid by check. Or the balance can be paid on arrival with cash, hunters choice. (Any returned checks will add $100 to the hunt) Attention hunters booking in groups - All hunters in your group are in charge of their own deposit. Other members in the group may pay for fellow group members. However, keep in mind that if you pay for another group member and that member cancels, the money you paid for him/her is not transferable to your hunt. But you may then try to find another member to take their spot. Make sure every member in your party does plan to make the trip, and know the number of people when you call to book. Your deposit is due 1 month from the day you verbally book. A $100/month late fee will be enforced for each month it is late. If I do not receive the deposit your spot will be re opened to other customers. Any exceptions to these rules will have to be negotiated with me prior to booking your hunt.
