Join us to chase the king of the gamebirds and his jester the timberdoodle in one of the top three states for grouse hunting in America.

We offer fully-guided day hunts in the Traverse City, Michigan area. Our dogs or yours, we can take up to 3-4 hunters in a party but the preference is 2 per guide.

What to Expect

Expect a full day of excellent dog work and opportunities at both grouse and woodcock in the northwoods of Michigan. Fall is an amazing time to be in the grouse woods and we are the premier outfitter to get you out and creating unforgettable memories.

As an Orvis-endorsed operation, we offer a high-quality experience complete with tailgate lunch, snacks and beverages for the day.

Expect moderate to tough walking through the thick aspen and pine thickets that grouse call home. We sometimes are down into lowlands with some water so good boots are a must. Most trips are between 6-7 hours in duration.

Gear & Equipment

Small game license with free woodcock stamp required. Orange clothing to include hat and shirt minimally. Eye and ear protection required. Good boots; Ideally waterproof and above the ankle for support.

Weapon Details

12 or 20 gauge shotgun with moderately open chokes.Semiautomatic shotguns must be plugged.

Pricing Details

Pricing is based upon a full day hunt for up to two hunters. Additional hunters are possible up to a total of 4 per guide. $100 additional per hunter above two. In the event a second guide is needed, the pricing will be $600 per guide.

Terms & Conditions

A credit card is required to hold your spot but is not charged until after the hunt if you would like to pay with it. A 3% processing fee is charged in addition to the base cost of the hunt. Gratuities are not included in the cost of the hunt.

Any hunt cancelled within fourteen (14) days of the scheduled hunt will be charged a $295 cancellation fee. For no-shows or cancellation within three (3) days of the hunt, full payment will be charged to your credit card.

All attempts to reschedule will be made within reason and will therefore avoid the cancellation fees.

Camp/Accommodations

The price of this hunt does not include accomodations but we are happy to pass along recommendations in the Traverse City area.

Accessibility

This hunt is generally not possible for disabilities requiring a wheelchair or other supplemental mobility requirements due to fact that hunting is not done on a path. Special locations do exist for those with disabilities and offroad capable mobility options, however, these areas are heavily pressured and opportunities to harvest a bird may be limited.

Physical Requirements

Clients must be able to walk 10-12 miles on average per day. However, the client determines the time hunting and exertion level.
