I'm fairly new to the high-end boot scene. I've purchased these for an anticipated elk hunt later this year. I bought them in a size 10. Honestly, when I first put them on I almost sent them back because they felt so small. I typically wear Salomons in a size 10 and I'm used to lighter weight footwear. I laced them up tight and spent some time in them around the house. I purchased the Kenetrek wax to go with them and once I decided I was all in on them, I went ahead and applied it per the instructions.

I took them on their first hike today at a local park and it was like having tank tracks on my feet (in a good way). I had a tiny bit of movement in the heel but I think it will be okay in the end as the stiffness of the boot wears away. I wore a mid weight Darn Tough sock and the temps were around 40F. My feet got warm (read sweaty) about 20 minutes into the hike and my feet generally run cold. Yes I know that's probably a bit warm for insulated boots but this was a break-in hike and nothing more.

I followed my dog straight up the side of a steep ravine and had no issues at all. Actually, it was as if the boots created little steps on the climb up as I dug them into the earth. Although I'm only into my first impressions, I'm quite happy with these.
