Wild Boar Hunts
Canterbury, New Zealand • Given the slightest opportunity a large Wild Boar will, overnight, decimate a farmer's crop, or, in early spring, feast on new-born lambs. There are records from game meat recovery depots of extremely large wild boars tipping the scales at more than 400 lbs. That's a very large adversary, particularly so should you be the sole reason for his being mad at the world! The traditional method of hunting wild boar in New Zealand is to use dogs, to find and hold, then to dispatch the boar with a knife. Yes, that's correct a knife, however rifles are allowed. This is extraordinarily exciting hunting, but only for the very fit, very quick, those with excellent endurance and an ability to fast climb a tree, if need be!! The 'Team Patterson' guides will not ask you to hunt Wild Boar in the forest with a knife, too risky for one and all. But, they'll do their best to place you within an easy rifle shot of a trophy GOLD MEDAL wild boar.
Elk, Fallow Deer Hunts
Canterbury, New Zealand • No doubt, if you are a hunter living in the United States, you have hunted Elk, but if you are seeking to (say) complete the 'Grand Slam of the South Pacific', or add to your collection of round horned deer, you'll need to seriously consider adding a New Zealand Wapiti Elk trophy to your hunting 'Wish List' when booking your Manuka Point Lodge hunt. All hunters who are familiar with Fallow deer will describe them as slender, dainty, flighty
(and producers of succulent venison!) Fallow deer also have an innate ability to feed on the best and most nutrition locations within their range and that is why, with a good moist spring followed by a kindly summer, Fallow bucks grow antlers which seem in proportionately large for their body size.

Big Game Hunts
Colorado, United States • Our Big Game season starts at the end of August starting with archery where we hunt different elevations based on snow levels. .Our black powder season usually starts in mid September and is a great time to hunt Elk. This time of year the leaves are changing and the Elk are bugling, starting their breeding season. The mule deer still have their velvet horns and it's just a great time of year to be hunting. Colorado Mountain Lion season starts the day after the last Big Game Season ends (mid November) and ends March 31 of the following year. In the later spring when the snow leaves, we hunt off horseback or ATVs. We have a month long Bear season which stretches the whole month of September. It's a draw tag, where the spot and stock method is the only thing we can use to hunt. The success is very good due to the amount of bear we have. You can also buy a bear license in the same season you hunt Elk and Deer.
Bobcat Hunts
Colorado • Fully guided hunts for elk, deer, bear, mountain lion, and bobcat. All types of hunt packages are available or we can customize to suit your needs. We provide all levels of service from pack out only to full service hunts. Bobcat season starts December 1st and goes through the end of February. Bobcats as well as Mountain Lion are easier to hunt in the fresh snow conditions, usually December and January. Bobcats are also run with hounds. These hunts with fine hounds are action packed, full of heart pounding adrenalin and are always great family fun.
